The Louisiana Tumor Registry (LTR) is pleased to present Cancer in Louisiana, Volume 12, which provides statewide statistics on cancer incidence and mortality for the years 1992 through 1996. This monograph is the fruition of the considerable effort and contributions of staff from the LTR central office, regional registries, hospital registries and other reporting facilities throughout Louisiana. These data have met rigorous criteria for completeness of reporting, non-duplication of records and internal consistency among data items. As a result, we are able to translate cancer data into meaningful information.
