Description

The Louisiana Tumor Registry (L TR) is pleased to release Cancer in Louisiana, Volume 15, which provides statewide statistics on cancer incidence and mortality for the years 1994-1998. It also includes incidence statistics for the Industrial Corridor and compares state and national figures for incidence and mortality. The monograph results from a collaborative effort of the LTR central office, its regional registries, hospital registries, other facilities in Louisiana, and the central registries of neighboring states. The L TR is grateful for the assistance and cooperation of all of these groups. The data in this volume provide an accurate, meaningful description of cancer incidence and mortality in the state. A summary of the findings is presented below.
