Abstract
The bronchial circulation is a high-resistance, low-capacitance part of the systemic circulation. It is estimated to receive 1–2% of the total cardiac output and supplies oxygenated blood to the conducting airways, regional lymph nodes, vaso vasorum of the pulmonary arteries and veins, and the visceral pleura. The bronchial veins are essential in the lung, but their function, course, and regulation have yet to be extensively studied (McCullagh et al. 2010; Kumar et al. 2016).
