Abstract
Neurologists are well poised to coordinate the care of people with cerebral palsy (CP) both because they are often involved in CP diagnosis and because the neurologic manifestations of CP require screening and evaluation across the lifespan. However, historically, neurologists have had a relative reticence to participate in longitudinal CP care (as compared to diagnostic evaluation). Guidelines for multidisciplinary involvement and referral may help assuage this reticence and further propel neurologists to be active members of multidisciplinary CP care teams, where they can play an important role.
