Title: Perceived Importance Of Adult Immunizations Among Medical Providers From HIV Outpatient Program Introduction Immunizations are key to primary care for people with HIV (PWH). Literature suggests that physician recommendations play an important role in improving immunization rates. Methods As part of the clinical quality improvement project at HIV Outpatient Program (HOP) at University Medical Center New Orleans, a survey (Pre-test) was conducted to evaluate clinicians’ perceived importance of a variety of immunizations for adult patients with HIV. The pre-test was followed by a 45-minute presentation to review updates of adult immunizations in 2023 tailored to PWH. Following this a survey (Post-test) was collected to assess changes in perceived importance. Results There were 12 HIV physicians in this study. Results demonstrated a statistically significant increase in the perceived importance of HPV vaccines among PWH aged 19-26. There was an increase in the perceived importance of Herpes Zoster and RSV vaccines that approached statistical significance. In addition, all providers believed Pneumococcal vaccines are very important for PWH aged 65 or above.
