Historical Collections

The Historical Collections include Catalogs and Bulletins (1931-2016), Graduation Programs (1933-Present), Historical Faculty Publications (1937-2019), the LSUHSC Hurricane Katrina Archive (2005-2025), the student newspaper LSU Medical Center Tiger (1932-1940), and the alumni magazine Medicinews (1975-2005).

This collection contains institutional documents such as course catalogs and student newspapers that do not reflect current academic offerings, and are intended for reference or research purposes only. Images and language that appear in the student newspaper The Tiger depict prejudices that are not condoned by LSU Health Libraries or LSU Health New Orleans.

While LSU Health Libraries are committed to making items archived in Digital Scholar accessible to all users and are actively addressing content compliance, many documents included in these historical collections present unique challenges. The Libraries will attempt to meet compliance as much as possible with currently available tools, but cannot guarantee full compliance for all items.
