Abstract
The United States’ Fifth National Climate Assessment was released by the U.S. Global Climate Change Research Program on November, 14, 2023.1 The National Climate Assessment is a peer-reviewed report resulting from the collaboration of nearly 500 authors and scientists from 14 federal agencies, universities and research institutions. The authors of this report are tasked with evaluating and predicting the effects of climate change on the nation’s environment, natural resources, infrastructure, and human health every five years; and providing a report summarizing their findings to Congress. Some of the findings of this report are summarized here, with emphasis on public health impacts.
